number of spectators that followed the semifinal of the Cricket World Cup in
2011, in which India and Pakistan played.
A billion
also followed the rescue efforts of the Chilean workers trapped in the San José
mine, a story of poverty and poor working conditions turned into the most
global and exciting reality show in the history of television. Shortly after,
Antena 3 scored a goal in Spain by exclusively bringing four of the miners to
tell their experience to the presenter Jaime Cantizano during
prime time.
According to some sources they offered 60,000 euros each. The program sank with
less than a million viewers and a very poor 4.9 percent share. The simile with
the reality was confirmed: once out of the house, they are not interesting.
